Festsaal in Luisenstrasse

In the heart of Berlin, one of the many properties of the renowned Humboldt University of Berlin is the historic Festsaal (Ballroom). The 167 m², extremely magnificent hall is part of a neoclassical building in Luisenstraße, completed in 1840 and built according to a design by Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse, a student of Schinkel. Initially, it served as a classroom building for the first Prussian veterinary school, the "Ecole Veterinaire". King Frederick I chose the grounds of the Prussian Gardens, which were among the most beautiful gardens in Berlin in his time, as the location of the school at that time.

Today, the North Campus of the HU is the site of the venerable building, which has been extensively restored and is thus extremely prestigious. The building's ballroom, which can be found on the 2nd floor, offers space for various events such as ceremonial lectures, conferences, summer schools or reviews of graduate programs.

Adjacent to the large, renovated banquet hall, which can accommodate up to 100 people, is lined with real wood parquet flooring and has walls lined with stucco, is the slightly smaller 59m² banquet room, which is ideal as a registration or catering area and is connected to the banquet hall by French doors.

The ballroom is equipped with a projector and screen, a lectern with microphone, hand-held and clip-on microphones as well as a conference system, offering numerous possibilities for events.

In addition, there are 6 further seminar and training rooms in different sizes and seating arrangements in the building.

At the rear of the building, a spacious green area and the Animal Anatomical Theater round off the historic ambience. Both are also rented out by Humboldt Innovation (HI).

In addition to the Festsaal, various other buildings and rooms at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin can be rented through HI and used in different ways.
